Advisory Service for Football Pitches Our advisory service is intended to improve your facility in terms of the effectiveness of management, the appearance and the playing quality of your surfaces. An advisory report, follows a detailed site investigation and a discussion with you to establish your overall aims. The report will cover all aspects of the maintenance and possible development of the pitches. The results of the site assessment and a discussion of their implications are followed by a detailed explanation of the management techniques required to achieve the desired results. Areas that are usually addressed include:
Being an independent consultancy, we won’t be trying to sell you anything but we’ll happily point you in the direction of particular products or machinery if we feel they are what would be of greatest benefit to you. Quality Assessment The FA have established performance quality standards for natural grass pitches. Those standards may be viewed here and include measures of sward height, hardness, water infiltration, surface evenness, slope and ground cover. Sport England have also established a range of criteria for assessing the performance standards of all forms of grass pitches. These are described in their excellent document, which may be downloaded here (2.5Mb). Agrostis are equipped to measure all these features of a pitch so you can see if your facility meets the required standards. In reporting to you on this, of course we’ll advise you on what to do if for any reason your pitch falls short on one or more of the measures. As a registered Expert Witness in matters concerning sports turf, our reports, prepared on the basis of an objective evaluation of the facility, may subsequently be used in court if, for any unfortunate reason, this is required. |
